LEGO KidsFest Tips!

We just finished the first session at LEGO KidsFest!!  WOW!!  I have NEVER seen so many LEGOs!!!

I thought I'd share a bit of information from the day so those of you attending Saturday and Sunday are ready!!

1.  No outside food or drink is allowed (we were not searched but just keep that in mind)

2.  Kids meals are around $4 at the Black Angus place - hot dog or chix strips w/ veggies/dip or fries and millk or soft drink.  There are Larosas booths and Skyline Chili booths as well as candy/nuts/lemonade/pretzels/nachos, etc.  Soft drinks are $3.50 - $4.00.

3.  We started in the back and worked our way back to the front.  It makes somewhat of a loop so that would be a good way to head through as well.  The store is in the back so if you don't have a bag for 'swag' you can shop and get one.  Today they did have some of last year's LEGO KidsFest t shirts they were giving away for free.

4.  Grab swag!  There are LEGO KidsClub Magazines and the LEGO Club JR magazines at the front on the right - be sure to sign up to get these delivered to your home for free!!!  They have free posters there as well.

5.  At the Ninjago booth (and many others) you have to wait in a line to 'get in' to the 'corral' - don't worry they move you in and out pretty quick.  As you leave the build area you should get a free Samukai.

6.  Grab Heroica and Friends comic books at their booths.  Grab a DUPLO paper hat.  My older son LOVED wearing his around all day (and all night after we left!   He got soooo much attention at the hotel!)

7.  T shirts are $15 - $25, the store has pretty regular prices on everything but some items are on sale, keychains are $5, and they have lots of the new mini figure series for $3.

8.  It is CROWDED.  Dress your child in something unique if you can.

9.  The Theater or Reading Area is a good spot to just relax for a few.

10.  In the construction zone if you build something cool find a LEGO worker and they will display it in the special cases around the area.

11.  There is a lost child area so teach your kids to identify LEGO workers so those are the folks they go to for help.

12.  Be sure to stop by the 'outside vendors' areas (Cincinnati had reps from the zoo, Reds, aquarium, a local blog, and more)  Many had their own giveaways and freebies.

13.  Jump in on the challenges - a friend's son won a Spongebob LEGO set for building a crabby patty!!
I hope this helps!!  Feel free to message me on Facebook with any more questions!!!
Have fun guys!!!

Into the Woods

Into the Woods

Where else, but in a fractured fairy tale, would a childless couple discover that their condition is the result of a witch’s curse and can only be reversed with a potion? This is the shocking news revealed to the Baker and his wife by their neighbor, the Witch. Furthermore, the ingredients for the potion happen to be a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn, and a slipper as pure as gold. And where are they to go to acquire these unique items? ‘Into the woods’ of course. Come along with some of your favorite, fairy tale characters as they pursue what they believe will allow them to live “happily ever after.” Observe the lengths to which they are willing to go to get what they want. Watch as they reap the consequences of their actions and ultimately recognize the necessity for community responsibility. You may change your mind about the presumed innocence in the tales we tell our children.

Hamlet or Did Father Reeeeealy Know Best?
Hamet

Adapted by Nancy Linehan Charles
William Shakespeare was intrigued with the consequences people experience when they make bad choices. He observed that poor decisions were frequently the result of allowing greed, jealousy, power and revenge to guide the decision-making process. He often warned his audience, “Pick your friends well – watch whom you listen to.” Considering that Hamlet chooses to listen to a ghost, it’s not surprising everyone ends up dead. While actor’s speak and portray the Bard’s words, storytellers provide insightful, often comic, commentary on the plot and escalating action. The play preserves some of Shakepeare’s most elegant passages as well as the nature of this 15th century tale, but makes it understandable to audiences of all ages. This is Hamlet like you have never seen it before!

St. Patrick's Day Parades have been a long and important tradition in the United States and throughout the world by both Irish and non-Irish people.
